During the process of upgrading our website today we ran into some issues that could only be resolved by restoring the website from Friday's backup. This means all changes (including message board posts, new user registrations, and so on) between Friday and Tuesday around noon are gone and will have to be done again. We apologize for the inconvenience. This was the first step in a series of upgrades to improve security, performance, and functionality. Please e-mail the web Admin if you experience any issues. A list of changes can be found after the break:
2/24 Changes - The content management system upgraded to the latest version. This plugs some security holes and makes the site a bit more resilient to hacker attacks.
- The user management section was updated - it is worthwhile checking that your profile is still intact.
- The message board was upgraded for better performance and to patch some security issues.
- The Karma indicator has been removed, as we see this as something that desuades people from posting on the message board.
If you have any comments or concerns about these upgrades, please e-mail the admin or post on the Communications Committee message board. You can expect some additional changes in upcoming weeks, including a few minor upgrades to existing components and a few new features. |
