Another summer has begun and as always it is turning into a fantastic one in Waterstone. As in years past, we are sure Waterstone will be ground zero for fireworks on the 4th of July.  While everyone has an opinion on fireworks, the one thing we should all agree on is R-E-S-P-E-C-T.  99% of Americans and Waterstonians enjoy a good fireworks show, but just not at 12am, or into the night. So please, shoot your fireworks off at reasonable hours. On the night of the 4th, let’s have a gentleman's agreement to shut it down by 11pm. And the week of the 4th please don't shoot them beyond 10pm.  Out of respect for your neighbors and to keep our community clean, please be sure to pick up your bottle rockets if they go in another yard and get out the next morning and pick up all of the paper and residue that is strewn about the area.

Below are some tips for the National Council on Fireworks Safety –

  • Always read and follow label directions.
  • Use fireworks outdoors only.
  • Obey local laws. If fireworks are not legal where you live, do not use them.
  • Always have water handy. (A hose or bucket).
  • Only use fireworks as intended. Don't try to alter them or combine them.
  • Never relight a "dud" firework. Wait 20 minutes and then soak it in a bucket of water.
  • Use common sense. Spectators should keep a safe distance from the shooter and the shooter should wear safety glasses.
  • Alcohol and fireworks do not mix. Have a "designated shooter."
  • Only persons over the age of 12 should be allowed to handle sparklers of any type.
  • Do not ever use homemade fireworks of illegal explosives: They can kill you! Report illegal explosives to the fire or police department in your community.

Waterstone Pool PDF Print E-mail

So far, the pool season has been great. We're still working out some kinks with the management company, ie. pool cloudy/dirty, the chairs/loungers have yet to be repaired (but supposedly this week they will pick them up and next week drop them back off), and of course we've had some issues with deactivated keyfobs. I can assure you US Aquatics (to include the monitors, the pool supervisor and manager), the BOD, the Pool Cmte and Cedar Management are working hard to make your visit to the pool fabulous and safe. We've made several repairs like the restrooms (loose toilets - still in progress), removal of landscaping that blocked sight when exiting, cracked drain covers on the deck, and motion sensored lights around the pool and some equipment in the pump room. The Pool and Social Cmte worked together to pull off a GREAT opening party. We ALL owe them a great deal of thanks for volunteering (–verb 1. to offer oneself for some service or undertaking without pay) so much of there time, especially Suzanne DuVal - Coupon Shopper Extrodinaire.

The newsletter will be late this month.  We have run into a snag with our regular vendor for printing and delivery of the newsletter.  We are working on getting this resolved and hope to have a newsletter out by the mid-month or earlier.

During the process of upgrading our website today we ran into some issues that could only be resolved by restoring the website from Friday's backup.  This means all changes (including message board posts, new user registrations, and so on) between Friday and Tuesday around noon are gone and will have to be done again.  We apologize for the inconvenience.

This was the first step in a series of upgrades to improve security, performance, and functionality.  Please e-mail the web Admin if you experience any issues.  A list of changes can be found after the break:
